Things I Love Thursday #13

  1. Daydreaming. I am an avid daydreamer, if I'm not interested in something, it is so easy for me to lose my focus and just drift off into lala land...
  2. Christmas festivities!! We have our Christmas tree up (though it's crooked) and for the first time it was done entirely by my brother and I (which is why it is crooked). We also made cookies and iced them. And ate them. It's tradition for us, and we don't have many family traditions so I appreciate them.
  3. Singing in foreign languages. I've already been learning songs in Japanese, and now I'm struggling to learn "Super Girl" by Super Junior in Chinese, which is quite hard actually. I'd like to also learn some Russian songs, I think Russian sounds so pretty. ^^
  4. Adventurous dreams that you don't want to wake up from. Just one more reason to not get up in the morning, haha.
  5. Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga. And more Lady Gaga. She was in Elle magazine this month, and oh gosh, she is and forever will be one of my top fashion icons. I've been meaning to put together some sort of collage or something of my fashion and style inspirations...
  6. Buying surprise gifts for my mother. Her birthday is this weekend and never have I felt so good about being sneaky. XD
  7. Watching movies in school!! Since we'll have a two week break starting Saturday, in the classes that we don't have tests, we're more or less partying and watching movies. Another reason why the winter holiday season is the best time of year.

Miliyah Kato

I am in love with this girl. I just discovered her yesterday, and I especially love her most recent music. She's twenty-one years old now, but she first started singing when she was only fourteen. She had origins in "J-urban" music and hip-hop styles, but now seems to be much more pop. Aside from just her music, I also really like her style. It's definitely Japanese street-fashion style, but also very chic. Her current hair is unique, I think, in a world where shiny, pin-straight hair, and layers, or perfect curls or waves are the norm, her simple but elegant style really caught my attention. :)

Things I Love Thursday #12

  • Being 18 is strange and exciting to think about--I'm officially an adult!!
  • Eating birthday cake to the point of bursting! And unwrapping gifts!
  • Chinese Dramas; I've watched so much Japanese anime and have been able to learn a lot of the language after watching so much. So now I hope that I can improve my Chinese as well. Currently I'm watching Black & White--a Chinese cop show! ^^
  • Looking through my new Keri Smith book The Guerilla Art Kit, and planning the positive mayhem I will share with the world.
  • The Forty-Six Laws of Anime. For the anime nerd, haha.
  • Knowing that you have friends who are thinking of you. ^_^
  • Creating an uber-long Christmas Wish List of everything you would love to have, and fantasizing about dream items you know you may never own.

Cherry Berry Bunny Outfit Coordinates~!

So, of my birthday gifts, the one I would definitely be most excited about is the Cherry Berry Bunny skirt that my mom ordered for me. It still hasn't been shipped yet, but hopefully I'll get it before Christmas. In the meantime, I've been playing around with polyvore to try different sorts of outfits out. (I used the OP picture because I couldn't find a good stock photo of the skirt.)

It's My Birthday!!!

Last night I was up until midnight waiting for the moment that I would turn 18. It's a bittersweet day for me, honestly. It was like saying good bye to my childhood and embracing a new part of life that I'm about to fully embark on. If that doesn't sound too cheesy.

So I opened my first present--from myself, actually. It was a purse I bought impulsively and then decided to wrap and hide in my own closet. It's really nice though, and more mature than most of the purses I already have. So that's what I will be using to feel more "grown-up". Today I wore my new pair of boots to school, along with my mom's old earrings, and it rained today. That might sound like a bad thing, but I loved it; it never rains around here.

I got wished a happy birthday from a few people. Not many knew about it because I only casually dropped that today was my birthday to a few people. I didn't want to be like "Hey hey, you guys, Monday's my birthday! Do something for me!" Coincidentally, today was the day that Lady Gaga took over Fuse TV. ^_^ I watched a bit of it.

In a while, I'm going to be opening presents from my parents (what could it be???) and then it'll be Chinese take-out for dinner. Originally, my dad was going to make me something, but he threw out his back, so I don't want him to push himself. I hope I get a good fortune in my fortune cookie.

All in all, a good day.
